High mileage used to be something to fear. Despite the excitement of watching all the odometer numbers returning to zero on your old GM, reality would inevitably kick in: The car’s end is nigh. This, of course, was a time when most automakers avoided measuring miles in the hundreds of thousands and people used “nigh” in everyday conversation.
